BASF is a German multinational chemical company and the largest chemical producer in the world. Its headquarters is located in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

The BASF Group comprises subsidiaries and joint ventures in more than 80 countries and operates six integrated production sites and 390 other production sites in Europe, Asia, Australia, the Americas and Africa. BASF has customers in over 190 countries and supplies products to a wide variety of industries.

From 2019, Mineco Company and BASF is cooperate to research a new generation collector to use for poor apatite grade II, III of Vinaapaco in Lao Cai province, Vietnam.

Grade III apatite ore is a poor ore, with an average P2O5 content of only about 15 – 18%, it also containing many impurities such as quartz, silicates, etc., which are minerals with a large density. Due to the different characteristics of apatite, this ore is currently the target of applying enrichment technology for the purpose of utilizing the resources of Vinaapaco Company.

The goal of Mineco Company and BASF is to research a new generation collector to improve recovery efficiency, minimize tail loss and reduce production costs.

The target result of the new generation collector will be achives final product of concentrate P2O5 ≥32%, recovery efficiency ≥70% and tail loss P2O5 ≤5%.

During the implementation process, the BASF’s research team focused on researching on the actual samples at Bac Nhac Son plant with sequential steps: first research in the laboratory, seconrd in the semi-industrial plant (Pilot station), and final with test at exsiting flotation line of Bac Nhac Son plant.

Quặng apatit loại III là loại quặng nghèo, có hàm lượng P2O5 chỉ vào khoảng 10 – 21% (hiện tại, trung bình là 15 – 18%), lại có chứa nhiều thạch anh và các silcat…, là các khoáng có đặc tính tuyển khác biệt với khoáng apatit, nên hiện nay loại quặng này chính là mục tiêu áp dụng công nghệ tuyển làm giầu với mục đích tận dụng tài nguyên của Công ty Apatit Việt nam.

Mục tiêu của Công ty Mineco và hãng BASF – Đức là nghiên cứu điều chế thuốc tập hợp thế hệ mới để tuyển nổi quặng apatit loại II, loại III tại Nhà máy tuyển Bắc Nhạc Sơn và đưa ra quy trình công nghệ tuyển nổi bằng thuốc tập hợp thế hệ mới nhằm nâng cao hiệu xuất thu hồi, giảm thiểu thất thoát ra đuôi thải, giảm chi phí sản xuất…

Kết quả mục tiêu thuốc tuyển thế hệ mới sẽ cho sản phẩm đạt hàm lượng P2O5 trong tinh quặng ≥32%, thực thu ≥ 70%, đuôi thải ≤ 5%.

Quá trình thực hiện, nhóm nghiên cứu hãng BASF đến từ Đức tập trung nghiên cứu thuốc tuyển trên các mẫu quặng tại Nhà máy tuyển Bắc Nhạc Sơn để điều chế thuốc tập hợp thế hệ mới tuyển quặng Apatit loại III nghèo. Quy trình thực hiện tuần tự theo các bước: nghiên cứu trong phòng thí nghiệm, chạy thử trên dây chuyền bán công nghiệp (Pilot), chạy thực tế tại dây chuyền sản xuất của Nhà máy tuyển Bắc Nhạc Sơn.

FLSmidth is the largest supplier in the world of flotation technology with famous brands are Dorr-Oliver and Wemco.

 

RETROFITE FLOTATION CELLS PROJECT FOR TANG LONG PLANT

After a period of over 25 years of production without any renovation or upgrade, now the flotation machine lines of Vinaapaco Company are operating frequently with problems such as impeller jamming, uneven air supply, unstable motor current, unsatisfactory cos φ coefficient, technological instability, affecting recruitment results as well as increasing product costs.
In fact, at present, the cost of producing with grade III apatite ore has the consumable electricity evaluate 18% ~ 20%. In which, the flotation stage has the largest power consumption, accounting for 50% of the power consumption of the entire chain system of the flotation plant.
In order to reduce the cost of producing ore flotation, the definite objective is to reduce the cost of electricity, namely, to reduce power consumption at the flotation stage.
FLSmidth is a world famous for large capacity flotation machines with advanced technology application for achives high recovery efficiency and low power consumption.
Currently, FLSmidth’s experts are studying for best solution of upgrade the old USSR flotation machines by the new advanced equipment.
